This is Your Retirement Wake-Up Call

Based on your responses, it’s time to make some progress on your retirement plan. You are clearly interested in creating a better retirement—you wouldn’t have taken this assessment if you didn’t. You likely knew that you were not in the best position to retire.

If you wanted a sign, here it is: you need to speak with a professional about your retirement.

While you will need to find a professional that can help, there are things you can do on your own and in anticipation of that first call. Where are you going to retire? How much money will you need month-to-month? What is your income going to be based on? Are your current investments the right ones to provide for you over the next decade? If you need long-term care, where will you go? How much will that cost? What is the smartest way to provide for your children, grandchildren, or causes after you retire? As always, the devil is in the details.

While you may not be where you would like to be at the moment, it truly is never too late to build a stronger retirement. If you have a partner, talk with them about these questions. Figure out what the pie-in-the-sky retirement is, determine which pieces of it are within reach, and work out what is keeping you from the rest. Then, bring your dream to a professional who can help make it a reality.
